US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo alleges that arch-enemy Iran has become a new "home base" for Al-Qaeda, an assertion questioned by experts. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says that Europe must enforce UN sanctions on Iran announced by the US. "We have made it very clear that every member state in the United Nations has a responsibility to enforce the sanctions," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tells reporters when asked about European opposition. The United States says it is imposing sanctions on Iran's defense ministry and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro under a UN authority which is widely contested.
