Belgian anaesthetist Helga Wauters on Thursday awaits judgement in Pau, south-west France, after a long and arduous investigation and trial. Wauters is alleged to have consumed alcohol on September 26, 2014 prior to a Caesarean section which turned to tragedy. She stands accused of manslaughter following the death of 28-year-old British woman Xynthia Hawke in 2014. Wauters, an alcoholic, denies she was drunk during the procedure. IMAGES
