Dutch police cordon off the area and redirect traffic near the scene of a hostage situation at an Apple store in the center of Amsterdam. Police said there were several special units deployed to "get the situation under control", adding that they had been alerted of an armed robbery at 5:40 pm (1640 GMT) which had rapidly transformed into a hostage situation. Images showing Ede's city centre cordoned off and emergency services deployed following the hostage situation. Authorities evacuated the centre of the town, located in central Netherlands, early in the morning after several people were held at Cafe Petticoat. Three of the hostages being held in the cafe have been released, police said, but did not yet sound the all-clear. IMAGES
