The same cauldron that was used for the Olympics lights up the night sky above the Tuileries Gardens at the end of the 2024 Paris Paralympics opening ceremony. The cauldron immediately rose into the sky after it was lit by five French Paralympians including track athlete Nantenin Keita and triathlete Alexis Hanquinquant. IMAGES
The opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympics, the first to be held on French soil, begins between the Champs-Elysées and the Place de la Concorde, signalling the start of 11 days of competition in the French capital with a plume of blue, white and red smoke. IMAGES
The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics begins with French quadruple gold medallist swimmer Leon Marchand extinguishing the cauldron and taking the flame in a lantern to the Stade de France. IMAGES
