UN chief Antonio Guterres warns that he fears the likelihood of further escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict means the world is heading towards a "wider war." UN rights chief Michelle Bachelet tells the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva that Russia's widespread and indiscriminate attacks in populated areas of Ukraine are of "immense concern", and warns that they could amount to "war crimes". SOUNDBITE
As part of the EU's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Ursula von der Leyen says Brussels will provide 500 million euros ($560 million) in extra funding to help deal with the "humanitarian consequences" of the war, including the flow of refugees into the bloc. SOUNDBITE
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says it is "not too late" for Ukraine to win the war, promising President Volodymyr Zelensky that more support is on the way to Kyiv as Russian forces advance. "Ukraine has been outgunned for months, forced to ration its ammunition... But it's not too late for Ukraine to prevail," the NATO secretary general says at a press conference with Zelensky.
