China's top diplomat Wang Yi, who has just taken over as Beijing's foreign affairs minister following the announcement that his predecessor Qin Gang had been sacked, meets with Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara ahead of an expected meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. After a month without being seen in public, Qin was removed from office by Beijing's top lawmaking body on Tuesday after just 207 days in the job, following weeks of speculation that the former ambassador to the United States and confidant of President Xi Jinping had fallen out of favour.
