Almost all opposition candidates in Madagascar have called on voters to shun a presidential election scheduled for November 16, raising concerns about the vote. "We reject this Thursday's election and ask the Malagasy people to pretend it doesn't exist," Hajo Andrianainarivelo, 56, tells a press conference in Antananarivo, speaking on behalf of a group bringing together almost all of the 12 opposition candidates in the running. "I'm hoping to get at least 55% of the votes for president," says opposition candidate and leader of the Democratic Green Party Frank Habineza, after casting his ballot in Kigali. This as incumbent candidate, President Paul Kagame, is widely expected to win another term and extend his iron-fisted rule for another five years. In 2017 Habineza won just 0.48 percent of the vote. Millions of Rwandans are voting in the general elections to select a president and parliamentary lawmakers. SOUNDBITE
