US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that Washington has set out a "serious diplomatic path" to resolve the confrontation over Ukraine in a letter to the Russian government. SOUNDBITE
The United States "will support diplomatic efforts" by Kyiv to reach a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine, Secretary of State Antony Blinken says during a press conference. SOUNDBITE
"We made clear that there are core principles that we are committed to uphold and defend," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says after Washington delivered a document to Moscow over the Ukraine crisis, "including Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and the right of states to choose their own security arrangements and alliances." NATO allies have begun the promised transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine to bolster defenses against Russia, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announces. "As we speak, the transfer of F-16 jets is underway, coming form Denmark, coming from the Netherlands," Blinken says at a NATO 75th anniversary summit in Washington. SOUNDBITE
Ukraine can decide for itself whether to strike Russian territory with US weapons but Washington has not encouraged such attacks, Secretary of State Antony Blinken says in Kyiv. "We have not encouraged or enabled strikes outside of Ukraine, but ultimately Ukraine has to make decisions for itself about how it's going to conduct this war," Blinken tells a press conference alongside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
