Less than two weeks before the opening of the Paris Olympics, a French soldier on patrol was stabbed and injured in the Gare de l'Est, a major Parisian railway station. The suspect, a 40-year-old man has been arrested and the soldier's prognosis "is not life-threatening", says Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on X. IMAGES
Police work in Kentish Town, northwest London, outside the home of the suspect held on suspicion of fatally stabbing the British lawmaker David Amess. Kenyan police say a serial killer suspect who escaped from a Nairobi police station may have been "aided by insiders".
