Homeless man shot dead by LAPD had served time for robbery

Charley Saturmin Robinet, the homeless man killed by the LAPD on Sunday, had a stolen French identity and was previously convicted for a bank robbery in 2000. Robinet was wanted by LAPD for a probation violation prior to his death. Charley Saturmin Robinet, 39, was part of a gang that robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Thousand Oaks in 2000. After the robbery, Robinet and another man led the LAPD on a chase through Ventura County before their vehicle ran over a spike strip. Robinet was caught with $33,500 on him, money Robinet said he need to support his acting classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
