A Philadelphia police officer survived an ambush by a gunman who claimed he carried out the attack “in the name of Islam” according a statement by the city’s police commissioner.
A security guard at a federal building in Lower Manhattan was killed by a lone gunman at around 5 p.m on Friday. The gunman then killed himself near the scene of the first shooting.
