Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado and presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia arrive at a square in Caracas cheered by crowds of supporters, the day after protests broke out in the capital contesting Nicolas Maduro's election win. Machado called for families to turn out for "popular assemblies" nationwide to show support for a peaceful transition of power. IMAGES
Bolivia's dismissed army commander Juan Jose Zuniga is arrested after commanding a coup attempt against President Luis Arce. Zuniga was captured and taken to a police vehicle outside a military barracks. "You are under arrest my general!" says Vice Minister Jhonny Aguilera. IMAGES
