Olympics Games-2024: men's triathlon postponed due to River Seine pollution

Images of the River Seine and tourists as the men's triathlon event scheduled for Tuesday was postponed until Wednesday due to 'sanitary reasons', as the water was still too polluted, announced the organisers, who had taken the risky gamble of having athletes swim in the river from the outset.     The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on July 26, 2024, will take part on the River Seine, organisers have announced, breaking the long-held Summer Games tradition of a stadium procession of athletes and officials.
