Former BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, one of the most recognisable faces on UK television, leaves court after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. The 62-year-old, who resigned from the BBC in April on "medical advice", six months after he was initially arrested, admitted committing the offences between December 2020 and April 2022. IMAGES

On Wednesday 12 July London's Metropolitan Police concluded that no crime has been committed, but the BBC continues an internal investigation into potential inappropriate behaviour by the news anchor, who has been one of the BBC's most trusted presenters. Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey arrives at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London, where he is set to face charges of four counts of sexual assault.
