On the 5th of May 2004, a live concert was held at the Café de Paris in London to find the Saddest Music in the World. It was also a film premiere to celebrate the UK & Eire release of Guy Maddin's The Saddest Music in the World. Bands of all shapes, sizes and sounds joined in from far and wide to compete for the saddest music honour: Guy Maddin and the lead actors Mark McKinney and Maria de Madeiros were the judges. Ce devait être le grand jour pour le « Starship block 2 », nouvelle génération de l’étage supérieur de la fusée Starship. Hélas pour SpaceX, l’expérimentation de ce nouveau véhicule a mal tourné. L’engin s’est désintégré dans le ciel. C’était censé être les grands débuts d’une toute nouvelle génération d’étage supérieur. Un « Starship block 2 » (il porte le même nom que la fusée Starship dans son ensemble) bénéficiant de nombreuses améliorations, aussi bien dans le design que dans l’avionique, sans oublier la capacité des réservoirs ou l’alimentation électrique. Hélas, le baptême du feu de cette nouvelle version d’étage supérieur a tourné au désastre, le 16 janvier 2025. Il apparaît que l’engin, initialement parti de la base d’essai de SpaceX au Texas, s’est complètement désintégré durant son voyage. Le véhicule devait en principe voyager dans l’espace, effectuer une rentrée atmosphérique et finir dans l’océan Indien.
