Aid is airdropped into northern Gaza as the Israeli-Hamas war enters its seventh month. Talks in Cairo towards a Gaza truce and hostage release deal have made "significant progress", Egyptian state-linked media reported Monday, more than half a year into the war started by the October 7 attack. Military aircrafts parachute food aid into Gaza City, a day after 18 people were killed in stampedes or drowned in the Mediterranean Sea as they were rushing towards aid packages. Hamas has urged an end to the airdrops and called for stepped-up road deliveries instead.
