African Union member states gather in Niamey to talk free-trade deal

The African Union gathers in Niamey, capital of Niger, for a summmit which the organisation hopes will pave the way towards a continent-wide free trade agreement. The AU envisions a free trade zone driving economic integration across a single African market of 1.2 billion people, expected to reach 2.5 billion by 2050. IMAGES
