Colombian superstar Shakira arrives at court as she goes on trial in Barcelona in a tax fraud case, with Spanish prosecutors seeking a jail term of over eight years for the Grammy-winning singer. They accuse the 46-year-old of defrauding the Spanish state of 14.5 million euros ($15.7 million) on income earned between 2012 and 2014, charges denied by the singer who says she only moved to Spain full time in 2015. People head out onto the streets in Afghanistan's capital after a strong earthquake hit, with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) putting the magnitude at 6.5. The USGS said the quake was centred near Jurm in northeastern Afghanistan and had a depth of 187 kilometers (116 miles). There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, but the quake was felt strongly across much of Afghanistan, Pakistan and even further east in parts of India. IMAGES
