A convoy, believed to be carrying former South African President Jacob Zuma, leaves his Nkandla home shortly before midnight on 6 July 2021. The JGZuma Foundation released a statement afterwards saying he decided to comply with a court order demanding he hand himself over before midnight. In a historic ruling, the Constitutional Court handed Zuma a 15-month sentence for contempt of court for snubbing anti-graft investigators. Police earlier warned they were prepared to arrest the former president by a midnight deadline on 7 July 2021 to enforce the ruling, unless the top court instructed otherwise.
