The Islamic State lost one of its most senior officials in an American airstrike in Syria, in what most see as a crushing blow to the terrorist organization.
The French government launched a retaliatory assault on the Islamic State capital in Syria just two days after the terrorist group claimed responsibility for the deadly Paris attacks that killed hundreds last Friday.
The Al Mughari building in the Palestinian camp of Bureij in Gaza is hit by an Israeli strike, onlookers flee the scene and return to help an injured man. The building had been evacuated before the strike following a phone call from the Israeli army. IMAGES
The United States condemns recent Iranian strikes in Pakistan, Iraq and Syria, which Tehran has claimed were carried out against "anti-Iranian terrorist groups." "We do condemn those strikes. We've seen Iran violate the sovereign borders of three of its neighbors in just the past couple of days," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller tells reporters. SOUNDBITE
