An Oologah, Oklahoma police officer crashed his cruiser after he was shot in the head during a police chase near the Oklahoma-Kansas border Thursday night.
"A larger group of possible perpetrators have taken refuge in two buildings in the city and...they are now surrounded by the police" after the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise, says Helen La Lime, the special representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Haiti. A manhunt is underway in the Dordogne region of southwest France where police are looking for a heavily armed former soldier who allegedly opened fire on officers called out to a domestic violence incident. Two helicopters alongside more than 200 gendarmes and two negotiators take part in the manhunt. IMAGES
The two main suspects in the killing of a police officer last week in southern France, aged 19 and 20, have already been convicted "several times" for violence and drug offences, says the prosecutor during a press conference. SOUNDBITE
