Gérard Larcher, Yaël Braun-Pivet, Anne Hidalgo and Patricia Miralles take part in the ceremony in tribute to Marshal Philippe Leclerc, as part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris. The French flag was raised under the Eiffel Tower during a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris. On 25 August 1944, at midday, firefighters from the ‘Sarniguet commando’ went to the Eiffel Tower to take down the Nazi flag that had been flying there for four years and replace it with the tricolour.
